As an introduction to our topic, Sue Davies a volunteer for Llandudno's RNLI came to school to talk to the children about the role of the RNLI. The children were shown footage of various rescues. Sue talked about the purpose and importance of the different flags on the beach. They enjoyed trying on the uniform!!

As a follow-up to the visit from Sue Davies from the RNLI, we went to the Westshore beach. We discussed dangers associated with the water and looked for important signs. After listening to the story 'The Pirates Next Door,' the children discovered a message in a bottle!!!
Mrs Griffiths asked us to combine the sand and small world area to make our own island for the pirates. We used our imagination to select materials.
